On Saturday, June 25, at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul in Indianapolis, Deacon Nico Apacaja will receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders through the laying on of hands by Archbishop Joseph Tobin. The following day, Father Nico will offer his first Mass, a Mass of Thanksgiving at his home parish of Holy Family Catholic Church (129 Daisy Lane/New Albany) at 11:30am. A light lunch will be offered in celebration following the Mass. Parishioners of St. Mary Church are also invited to attend the Mass and lunch, but are asked to contact Karen Schoenfelder at (812) 944-8283 to RSVP so that the parish can have a reasonable idea of how many will be attending the reception. As a sign of your continued support, please continue to hold Deacon Nico in your prayers as his ordination nears. He has been a blessing to our parish community over his past two years of service and ministry!
