As Baptized members of the Catholic faith, each of us has a responsibility to “conscious and active participation” in the Mass (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 1963). In a unique way, some members of our parish are called forth from the congregation to lead others in celebration of the Holy Mass as lay (non-ordained) liturgical ministers. Whether you are currently serving in a lay ministry role or are feeling called to look into leadership roles more closely, you are invited to attend Liturgy Learn & Lead at St Mary Church. This event, scheduled for January 30 (8:30-11:30am) features top-notch presenters on topics of Catholic liturgy, opportunity for prayer and reflection and, of course, the fellowship our parish is known for! Our keynote speaker will be Rev. Pat Beidleman, the executive director of the secretariat for Spiritual Life and Worship in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis and is the rector, SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral. Mark your calendar now and please join us! Registration materials will be available after the first of the year.
