It takes an entire Church to minister to children and youth! Even young families sometimes need a hand in order to participate in the life of the Church, for practical reasons. Our faith community has so much to offer as we aim to enrich the faith lives of our young people, encouraging them to grow in their faith and inspiring them to love and serve the Lord. In this spirit, St. Mary Catholic Church is looking for helping hands! Volunteering with the youth ministry and faith formation programs does not necessarily mean a weekly or long-term commitment. This summer, while we await the hiring of a new staff member to coordinate these efforts in the future, there are a variety of opportunities available to share your unique gifts and talents. At this time, we are specifically looking for adults (age 18+) who are interested in:
- babysitting during Financial Peace University on Sunday nights and MOMS Bible study on Thursday mornings
- co-leading Breakfast Club gatherings for middle school youth on Friday mornings
- co-leading a book study (How to Find Your Soulmate…) for high school /college youth on Sunday nights
- chaperoning summer trips to Holiday World and Belle of Louisville trips
Previous experience not required! A minimal training program and a background check will be necessary before participating as a youth ministry/faith formation volunteer. For more information, please contact the Parish Office (812) 952-2853 or email
