Covenant Prayer Group Ministry Contact: Phil & Melanie Wermuth (502-759-6745) St. Mary Covenant Prayer Group started in 1983. We offer praise to God in the form of charismatic prayer; that is, we sing spirit-filled songs, pray in tongues, read scripture passages, and have prophetic word gifts and intercessory prayer. We meet each Thursday evening at 7:30 pm. Exceptions are Thursday holidays, such as Thanksgiving, holy days, or any evening that Mass or confession is offered in church. All are invited to join us for prayer and praise. |

Divine Mercy Prayer/Study Group Ministry Contact: Parish Office (812-952-2853) Divine Mercy was led by Ken and Yvonne Abell. The Divine Mercy Prayer and Study Group had different levels of participation. They strived to understand and pray for God's Mercy and discuss how to live it in today's world. They met on Wednesday mornings with Mass, followed by benediction, adoration, and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Afterwards the Divine Mercy Prayer Group met in the Parish Life Center for study and discussion. In 2019-2020 the Divine Mercy Prayer Group completed the FORMED study, Who Am I to Judge, and a study of the Gospel of John called Follow Me. Members also assisted in presenting weekend studies on Divine Mercy with Fr. Chris Alar’s Divine Mercy 101 and the Fr. Michael Gaitley series Second Greatest Story Ever Told. us. |

Eucharistic Adoration Ministry Contact: Jim Mersmann (812-972-9895) "The Eucharistic presence of Christ begins at the moment of the consecration and endures as long as the Eucharistic species subsists. Christ is present whole and entire in each of the species and whole and entire in each of their parts, in such a way that the breaking of the bread does not divide Christ. Worship of the Eucharist. In the liturgy of the Mass, we express our faith in the real presence of Christ under the species of bread and wine by, among other ways, genuflecting or bowing deeply as a sign of adoration of the Lord. ‘The Catholic Christ has always offered and still offers the sacrament of the Eucharist the cult of adoration, not only during Mass, but also outside of it, reserving the consecrated hosts with the utmost care, exposing them to the solemn veneration of the faithful, and carrying them, in procession.”(Catechism of the Catholic Church Nos 1377-1378) Jesus becomes our focal point during adoration, as Jesus’ Body is exposed on the altar and available to us spiritually as we enter into private prayer. It is during this time of adoring Christ that we learn to listen and be with Christ. During adoration, we “watch and wait” and open ourselves to the grace of the Eucharist. St. Mary Church offers Eucharistic Adoration every Wednesday starting at 3:00 pm and ending with a formal benediction (blessing) at 8:00 pm. We are asking for volunteers to once again to come for a few minutes or commit to a Holy Hour each week. Eucharistic Adoration is your time to be still and enjoy the company of Jesus! Please call the parish office or contact Jim if you are interested in committing to an hour for Adoration. |

Sunday Morning Rosary Ministry Contact: David & Esther Wheatley (812-952-3065) A long-standing tradition of St. Mary Church, the faithful gather together prior to the 9:00 am Mass on Sunday mornings to pray the rosary. Led by members of our community, this beautiful prayer devotion is both vocal, public prayer and a meditative prayer. The power of the rosary is beyond description. Come a few minutes early to Mass (approximately 8:15 am) and join in! No RSVP is necessary. |
